People and Pet Food Drive:
Little Helpers Community Services is conducting two collection drives to help bring food to the needy. LHCS is collecting donations of non-perishable food and personal care items for the Irving Park Community Food Pantry. Each month, the Pantry provides food and support to over 1,500 individuals representing nearly 600 households. LHCS, also collects food, litter, and toys for pets, in support of the Red Door Animal Shelter, The Red Door Animal Shelter is a no-kill animal shelter that cares for cats, dogs and rabbits. Little Helpers Inc, collects food from clients donating to the food drive.
Recycling Program:
Recycling of used energy efficient bulbs, empty printer cartridges and old cell phones prevents these items from ending up in landfills where mercury and other toxic chemicals can seep into the ground. It also helps to reduce the use of petroleum based chemicals that are used to make and transport these items.
In our continuing concern for the world around us, LHCS has launched a program to encourage and support community recycling efforts. The LHCS center will accept the following items for recycling: light bulbs, cellular phones, printer ink cartridges and similar items. Through our affiliation with Little Helpers, Inc, collection boxes will be placed at various locations for easy drop off of your recyclables. Please check this website for drop-off locations.

English as a Second Language Classes: (We are seeking volunteers to teach ESL)
Speaking and understanding English is essential to everyday life in the United States. Being able to communicate in English can enhance one’s ability to find employment, communicate with friends, co-workers and neighbors and better deal with many everyday situations.
LHCS is now enrolling participants for our upcoming English as a Second Language Classes. These classes are designed for those who are seeking to learn Basic English skills.
